Edna Benoit Farm
The images below were taken from various historical plat books detailing land ownership. In the 1987 plat book, the land that is currently Turnberry was owned by Edna Benoit. In 1994, the majority of Turnberry land was labeled as being held by First of America Bank. Finally, in the 2012 image, Turnberry and surrounding streets are well defined.
Turnberry Subdivision
Turnberry Subdivision was platted in October of 1992. The image below shows where the backyards of lots 18-23 originally butted up to a cornfield, which was actively being farmed for the first couple of years that those homes were occupied. Another thing to note, Mill Berry Street was originally intended as another connection point to Chippewa Drive, which was later revised to be a cul-de-sac.
First Addition to Turnberry
The first of three additions to Turnberry Subdivision was platted in May of 1995. This addition included the introduction of Longberry Lane, Thornberry Court, and half of Holly Berry Lane.
Second Addition to Turnberry
The second of three additions to Turnberry Subdivision was platted in September of 2003. This addition extended Turnberry Drive all the way to the south entrance on Chippewa Drive, and also included Loganberry Court.
Third Addition to Turnberry
The last of three additions to Turnberry Subdivision was platted in April of 2005. This addition connected the two already-existing ends of Hollyberry and added Beach Court.
Fun Fact: Beach Court is the only street in Turnberry Subdivision that does not have the word "berry" in it!
